Busy day

Today we started by getting to the vet by 7:30am to get some antibiotics for our hedgehogs cheek infection. Then we headed to Memphis. We spent about 3 hours at the zoo which was great. The weather was nice so pretty much all the animals were easily seen. After the zoo, we headed for a great meal at Olive Garden. Next came an exciting outdoor store. We go in and soon realize that they have no power. So we get my headlamp from the truck and proceed to shop in the "cave". On our way out of Memphis we decide to see what Mud Island is all about. It was well worth the $5 parking cost. We walked the model of the entire Mississippi river (about 1/2 mile long). It had pretty cool detail including street maps of the major cities and pretty accurate ridges, islands, depths, and even running water. When we get home we had the excitement of administering antibiotics orally to a ball of spikes. Our hedgehog wasn't interested in taking his medicine. That took the better part of an hour. Well that's enough rambling for my first post. More to come...
